The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries that included broken teeth and a swollen mouth, as well as head and back injuries, according to TMZ.

Authorities told The Associated Press they were interviewing several eye witnesses.

In 1999, the seven-time NBA all-star was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Houston.

He was also a member of the 1992 "Dream Team" that won Olympic gold for the US.
