Baby Audrina Cardenas has gone home after undergoing a six-hour surgery to put her heart back in her chest.
A woman fell out of a New York apartment window holding a baby and plunged eight stories to her death — but the 10-month-year-old boy in her arms survived, said the Associated Press, citing city officials.
New York police said it looked like a suicide attempt on the part of the 45-year-old woman, who was found dead in the street on Wednesday, reported AP.
The child was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is reportedly in critical condition but will probably live.
The scene of the incident, a Manhattan high-rise, had no safety bars on the windows, said AP.
