Lil Wayne performs onstage during the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 21, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lil Wayne suffers from epilepsy, he announced Thursday. The 30-year-old rapper discussed his health in an interview with Los Angeles-based radio station Power 106. "I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them."
Lil Wayne's health has been the subject of rumors and speculation after a dramatic scare two weeks ago, when TMZ reported that he was in critical condition following a series of seizures.

Lil Wayne's friends fired back that the singer was "alive and well," calling the TMZ report "false."
His health issues put the spotlight on a concoction called "sizzurp" that is popular among Southern rappers. The narcotic is a powerful and highly-addictive but legal cough syrup, usually mixed with fruit soda. The Los Angeles Times took an in-depth look at the drink's ubiquity in rap, nothing that sizzurp is suspected in several famous deaths.
While spokespeople have denied that the concoction was responsible for Lil Wayne's recent health scare, his fans have long known of Wayne's affection for the drink, the LA Times said.
