Iraq suicide bomber at Baghdad park kills at least 25

A suicide bombing in a park in northern Baghdad on Friday left at least 25 people dead and scores injured, according to BBC News.

The strike came amid a dramatic rise in violence in Iraq, with thousands killed over the past several months. 

In Friday's attack, a bomb-strapped belt exploded in a park in Qahira, which is in the northern part of the capital, said Al Jazeera

Reuters said it was detonated at a cafe in the park, describing the attack as one of the most deadly reported in Iraq in recent weeks. 

The Associated Press said as many as 26 people were killed. The varying casualty counts could not be immediately explained.
