Eight people, including two teenagers, were arrested on Friday after a fight broke out at a kindergarten graduation in Cleveland.

Police Commander Wayne Drummond said a fight between two teenage girls spread among adults and other teens in a crowd following the promotional ceremony at Michael R. White Elementary School.

"It's a shame something like this would happen at a promotional ceremony for young kids," Drummond said. "When people act like this they are going to jail."

Witnesses, however, said the fight took place outside of the school, either in the parking lot or on the street, and broke out between parents when some punch was accidentally spilled.

No one was seriously injured, but a hammer and a club were recovered from the scene.

Police said the eight arrested will be charged with inciting a riot. The teenagers involved in the fight were not students at the school.
