Caroline Kennedy selected to serve on jury in drug dealer trial

Caroline Kennedy, the only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and who is being vetted as the next U.S. ambassador to Japan, was selected Monday to sit on the jury for the trial of a drug dealer.
“My name is Caroline Kennedy,” she told the Manhattan court. “I live on the upper East Side. I’ve lived at my present address for 25 years. I live with my husband and two grown children.”
During questioning, Kennedy didn’t mention if she or any member of her family had been a victim of a crime, even though her father and her uncle, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, had both been assassinated.
When asked if she knew with a drug problem, Kennedy said “a few people.”
Though she hadn’t been employed in law enforcement, Kennedy volunteered that her brother – the late John F. Kennedy Jr. – had worked as an assistant district attorney.
Kennedy will serve on the Supreme Court panel hearing the case of Nelson Chatman, who has been accused of dealing crack cocaine in New York.
