An intern working at Bank of America's London offices died on Aug. 15 after reportedly working nearly 72 hours in a row, according to the UK's The Independent.
Moritz Erhardt, a 21-year-old German exchange student, died seven days before the end of his summer internship.
The New York Times said "unconfirmed reports on social network forums suggested Erhardt had worked through the night on three consecutive times as part of his internship."
The Independent reported he had worked until 6 a.m. on those three days.
Bank of America declined to comment on whether or not Erhardt had been overworked, according to the Times.
Erhardt had been studying business at the University of Michigan, while also attending the Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany.
Erhardt reportedly suffered from epilepsy and collapsed in the shower at Claredale House, a student residential housing facility in East London. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
