Alabama airport opens again after terror threat

The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in Alabama has reopened again after it was evacuated on Sunday, when workers there found a note containing a bomb threat.
An airport employee found a note in the men's bathroom around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, prompting an immediate evacuation as well as a shutdown of roads leading to the area, reported WBRC.

The FBI Terrorism Task Force and bomb dogs went over the area and found nothing of interest, while the TSA brought in extra security staff to assist the travelers still remaining at the airport after the delay, reported AL.com.
An "all clear" was declared around 7:00 p.m., and the small regional airport was then re-opened for business.
About a dozen flights were either delayed or diverted by the two-hour-long evacuation of the terminal, wrote the Associated Press. Delayed passengers posted images of the scene to social media.
Airport security tensions are running high in the United States after Friday's attack at Los Angeles International Airport, where one Transportation Security Administration agent officer was killed and four others were wounded by suspect Paul Anthony Ciancia, who was armed with an assault rifle.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
