Millions around the world are celebrating Chinese New Year, a holiday honoring family, fortune and renewal that sparks massive migration as people travel home for the festivities.

In fact, Chinese New Year travel represents "the largest annual movement of humans in the world, and now it can be tracked by smartphone," Gizmodo reports. 

An animal from the Chinese zodiac represents each coming new year. This year's animal is the sheep. Or wait, is it the goat? There's some confusion over this, and the answer sort of depends on who you are and where you live. NPR has tackled the question thoroughly here.
