"Winnipeg, get ready to paint the town Burgundy."
That's Ron Burgundy, Will Ferrell's fictitious "Anchorman" character commenting on his upcoming trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He's headed north of the border to co-host Canada's Olympic curling trials for sports broadcaster TSN.
Burgundy will be paired up with veteran TSN curling commentator Vic Rauter.
"I may be his foil. I'm not sure what direction Mr. Burgundy wants to go in, but I'm fair game," said Rauter. "He's only going to be with us for one end, and it's a women's game. But he's going to be taking part of the opening ceremonies in Winnipeg."
The trip to Winnipeg is part of Will Ferrell's publicity tour for his new film, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."
But the tournament called the "Roar of the Rings" is a hugely popular event.
The winners of the tournament will represent Canada at the Sochi Olympics in February.
"I really do believe in that old adage that any publicity is good publicity," said Rauter. "This has the potential of bringing curling to an audience right around the world."
So pour a glass of scotchy, scotch and enjoy.
