Punk Band Pussy Riot Takes On Big Oil

Russian journalist Masha Gessen talks with anchor Marco Werman about the provocative new music video by the dissident band Pussy Riot. Gessen recently spent four hours visiting a leading band member, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, in a Russian prison.

“They put us in a tiny room. There was an inspector present at all time as she was actually physically sitting between us,” Gessen says.

Pussy Riot, according to Gessen, continues to hone in on issues central to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s grip on power.

“They are, I think, possibly the most incisive political commentators in Russia today. And I say this in all seriousness,” Gessen says.

Below is the new video that Pussy Riot has just released, its first in the last year.
