Chinese Police Chief Gets 15 Years in Jail

A former Chinese police chief at the center of a messy political scandal has been sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Wang Lijun was convicted of crimes including defection, abuse of power and initially covering up the murder of a British businessman.

He admitted his guilt.

Earlier this year, Wang fled to a US consulate and alleged that the wife of a prominent politician, Bo Xilai, had killed her business partner in a dispute over money.
