Along the Yangtze River, in the middle of China, one of the largest construction projects since the Great Wall is going on. It’s called the Three Gorges Dam, and, when completed, it’ll be the world’s biggest hydroelectric power station. The problem is, the dam is already causing massive landslides, polluting drinking water – and displacing at least four million – yes, four million – people. Filmmaker Yung Chang has a documentary out now called Up the Yangtze, and a charity he’s set up to help the displaced residents. Yung Chang speaks with Faith Salie on Fair Game.
