In 1967, the films nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards were The Graduate, Bonnie & Clyde, Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, Dr. Doolittle, and In The Heat Of The Night, which won the category. Not a bad selection. But according to Mark Harris, it was more than that. He’s a columnist for Entertainment Weekly whose new book Pictures At a Revolution argues that this batch of movies represented a crucial turning point in the history of American cinema. He talks about it with Faith Salie on Fair Game.
