Discount retailing giant Wal-Mart is facing the largest class action lawsuit in American history. Over one million women say that the corporation pays both salaried and hourly female workers less than their male counterparts.
While Wal-Mart has been consistent in their defense that this is not the case, Louise Story, Wall Street and Finance Reporter for our partner The New York Times, say her paper has hard evidence to the contrary. A 1995 legal memo obtained by The Times warns the company of their potential legal exposure, and may be a damning piece of evidence in this case.
