Forget the Super Bowl… for today’s Geo Quiz. The big game in Arizona is NOT the only big sporting event taking place this weekend.
There’s also the Africa Cup of Nations. That’s an international soccer tournament taking place in Ghana right now.
The hometown team is called the Black Stars.
They’re among the 16 African teams that qualified for the 3 week tournament.
Quarterfinal matches are scheduled to be played on Sunday and Monday.
What we want to know is where in Ghana are the big games being played?
Four cities have the honor.
So name these cities where — it’s safe to say — no one will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday…
Time’s up actually since we just got thru on the sat phone to Ghana. That’s the BBC’s West Africa correspondent David Amanor.
He’s got the names of the 4 Ghanaian cities that are hosting the Africa Cup of Nations. And they are:
?Accra and then Kumasi, Sekundi and Tamale — they’ve really done well.?
So give yourself a pat on the back if you guessed Accra, Kumasi, Sekundi and Tamale. David Amanor’s covering all the soccer action. But he’s also traveling throughout Ghana as the tournament unfolds.
