Direct flights between Taiwan and China

The World

The first customers were given the red carpet treatment with receptions, banquets and performances. Some of the first people said they were delighted to travel to Taiwan, many saying they’ve waited a long time to come. There’s also excitement among Taiwanese who are hoping the influx in tourism will provide an economic boost. This travel service worker says the tourists could bring in millions of extra dollars every year. A lot is at stake because the flights are the first signs of warmer relations between the two countries.
