Deal on Payroll Tax Cuts is Dead on House Arrival

The Senate’s two-month payroll tax extension is dead now that it has hit the House floor. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, suddenly changed his position on the bill and Sunday morning announced that he won’t support the Senate bill.   The deadline to extend the tax cut expires December 31.
