[waitingforcorrection: no audio attached, invalid GUID] It’s a familiar story: your spouse leaves you, taking the kids and you’re left in the wake trying to figure out how you got here and where you’re headed. One newsman based in Chicago was faced with this scenario. His marriage dissolved, his wife leaving their home in Chicago with their young son. They were headed to the much smaller town of Tyler, Texas. So Chris Groskopf, a news applications developer at the Chicago Tribune decided he’d make a project out of his woe. He’d move to Tyler to be near his son, and he’d develop the same style of apps that got him a job at the Tribune…for a different purpose.
He’s set for his move in July. We’ll talk with him about the apps he wants to develop to make Tyler’s government, services, politics and news more accessible.
