9/11: Looking Back and Ahead with Lee Hamilton

The Takeaway

Listen
All week long, we’ve been talking about the tenth anniversary of 9/11. We’ve spoken with young people, experts, soldiers, and you, our listeners. Today, we’re focusing on the 9/11 commission, and what we’ve done to improve homeland security since the attacks. Lee Hamilton, the Vice Chair of the 9/11 Commission, helped prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11 attacks.  Hamilton is also a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and a current member of the U.S. Homeland Security Advisory council.

Do you support journalism that strengthens our democracy?

At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.

Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
