George Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder and arrested, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.
A law enforcement official told the AP that Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old black teen Trayvon Martin, is currently in custody in Florida.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has claimed that he shot the 17 year old in self-defense after the two fought on Feb. 26. The case has sparked nation-wide protests and calls for Zimmerman's arrest.
Martin's parents spoke to the AP Wednesday, saying that the arrest of their son's killer would "start a process of healing."
