Jean Yung

Jean Yung covers China for GlobalPost. Born in Shanghai, Yung returned to the city as a freelance correspondent in the fall of 2009. Prior to China, she covered the fastest-growing Asian community in the U.S. (Las Vegas), military recruiting in inner-city Los Angeles high schools and the plight of immigrants under attack in Cape Town, South Africa. Yung holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in journalism from USC Annenberg. She can be reached via jeanyung.com.
