Barbara E. Martinez oversees GlobalPost's Europe coverage from her base in Washington, D.C. Prior to this position, she oversaw GlobalPost's website as Managing Editor, Web. Martinez came to GlobalPost from the news company Politico where she was Deputy Managing Editor. Prior to Politico, Martinez was a staff writer for the Washington Post, a freelance editor, and a paralegal in the Brussels office of the law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP. She is a graduate of Harvard College, where she was an Executive Editor of the Harvard Crimson. She has written for the Associated Press, Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal Europe and Gannett Suburban Newspapers.
