Wednesday morning — before Parisians had even woken up — a new disturbing chapter to this story: Police raided an apartment in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis looking for the suspected mastermind behind Friday’s attacks. After a seven-hour standoff, two of the apartment’s occupants were dead. One of them a woman who blew herself up. Seven people were arrested during the operation. But in the end the fate of the alleged mastermind remains unknown.
