In early June, single-handed pianist Gary Graffman will perform the Luis Prado Concerto for Piano Left Hand in Philadelphia with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Graffman’s hand injury, which presented itself in middle age, has significantly changed his career — though not necessarily his musicianship. (Originally aired: November 10, 2001)

When Buckminster Fuller invented the Dymaxion house in the 1940s he called it perfect — spacious, round, collapsible, aluminum. But the Dymaxion was a spectacular failure and only two of the houses were ever built.

Everyone has a different idea of family. Right now at the Aldrich Museum in Connecticut some of those ideas are together under one roof.

On his fourth and newest CD, 27-year old jazz pianist Jason Moran goes it alone without a drummer or bassist.

Until mid-October at Mass MOCA in North Adams, Massachusetts you can see a giant ziggurat covered with toy action figures. The installation is the work of Jarvis Rockwell, son of the late illustrator and painter of American icons, Norman Rockwell.
