Sinkane Live In-Studio

Brooklyn-based Afropop band Sinkane is here to remind us that “we’re all gonna be alright.” Blending a wide range of musical influences, their sound is a mix of 60s funk, Sudanese pop, and international soul. Band leader Ahmed Gallab cut his teeth on the road with bands like Of Montreal, Yeasayer, and Caribou before forming Sinkane in 2007. Leadingup totheir world tour for their newest release “Life and Livin’ It,” the band joined us in the studio to play a few new songs and share a custom playlist of tracks that inspired their new album.
