Punta Rocker

Studio 360

In Belize, the Garifuna are a distinctive ethnic minority — the descendants of Africans and Carib Indians. The modern Garifuna music called punta rock is popular throughout the island and beyond, and its biggest star is Andy Palacio. He plays for us live in the studio, and tells Kurt about his new record “Watina,” which takes punta rock back to its roots.
