The Wolfpackis a documentary about seven siblings who grew up locked inside the top floor of a New York apartment building. They only access the outside world through a window — and films. Two of the brothers, Govinda and Mukunda Angulo, talk about some of their favorite movies with Sideshow host Sean Rameswaram for an upcoming podcast.
The siblings’ father only allowed them to go outside a couple of times a year — and one year, they didn’t leave the apartment at all. But he did provide them with a ton of movies. The brothers have watched a total of 5,000 films, some over and over again. Their favorites include theThe Dark Knight, Goodfellas, and Tarantino films.
Growing up, theypreferred movies with a big cast so they could re-enact them and all get to play a role. They would hand-write the scripts, make movie posters, and host makeshift opening nights.Mukunda remembers the very first thing he Googled when he discovered the internet: The Dark Knight. The brothers are now the stars of their very own film, The Wolfpack, directed by Crystal Moselle. It opens in theaters Friday, June 12th.
