Corey Dargel was a balladeer-for-hire. His album Other People’s Love Songs is a collection of sweet and sometimes sardonic odes comissioned by beloveds.
A couple years ago, Kurt was looking for the perfect gift for his wife Anne and he called Corey up. After a brief interview (Corey interviewing Kurt, that is), he came back with this lovely ballad that captures the couple’s first meeting in a rhythmic, airy tune.
Corey Dargel has since taken a break from the love songwriting business. But he’s still singing about love. He’ll perform tonight at 8pm at SUNY Fredonia, New York — and Friday, February 25 at 7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn.
