Bruce Willis is a car chase extraordinaire — think the hair-raising flying car chase scene in ‘The Fifth Element‘ (1997). Now he’s chasing down the Gorillaz (a band fronted by animated monkeys, but really the work of musician Damon Albarn and comic book creator Jamie Hewlett). That chase scene is the video for the band’s new single ‘Stylo,’ featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack. (Click on the picture below to watch the video.)

The lip snarl at 0:43 and the cop’s (sad) attempt to slide across the car’s hood crack me up every time.
Gorillaz’s new CD, Plastic Beach, hits stores March 9. Like the group’s first two CDs, Plastic Beach is a work of extraordinary collaboration — with other tracks featuring an array of guests including Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Gruff Rhys, Lou Reed, and The Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music, just to name a few. The result is nearly an hour of genre-hopping head-bopping music.
If you can’t wait to hear the album, you can stream it now via NPR until March 9.
