US civil rights leader Martin Luther King, displays his Nobel Peace Prize medal on 10 Dec. 1964 in Oslo, Norway. King, born in 1929 just within the Year of the Dragon, was an ambitious champion of the civil rights movement before his assassination in 1968, with the Dragon’s energy and passion.

Known for their passion, intelligence, ambition and energy, people born in the Year of the Dragon — 1988, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 — are also said to conceited, hot headed, sharp-tongued and fierce tempered if provoked.
One unusual pattern that popped out while making our list was the number of politically volatile subjects; many known for taking, and dishing out, heat while in office, and others for their assassination in the pursuit of their ambitions.
