George Soros setting up shop in Burma

GlobalPost

Last month, as Hillary Clinton ended her historic visit to Burma, she hinted that the U.S. would stop discouraging international aid to the repressive state.

It seems that George Soros was paying close attention. As we indicated last week in our "George Soros to spread his wealth in Burma?" post, the billionaire philanthropist will indeed set up shop in Burma.

According to AFP, Soros will establish an "official presence" in Burma to further the “the transition from a closed to a more open society.”

It also appears that Aung San Suu Kyi, who helps guide much of America's Burma policy, will play a role in deciding how Soros' cash is dealt out. Soros says that he's "very much guided by her vision in my involvement in Burma," according to AFP.
