Keeping up with India's corruption is a full-time gig… But here's the latest — and this time it's Old School:

Back in the day, the gold smuggler was a staple of Bollywood films like Deewar. But I thought these days Indians just bought gold.

Turns out they still get the yellow metal in other ways, too, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). India's Feds snared state-owned National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) chairman and managing director Abhay Kumar Srivastava, his wife Chandni, middleman Bhushan Lal Bajaj and his wife Anita on corruption charges after allegedly catching Chandni red-handed with 3 kilograms of gold intended as a bribe, the Hindustan Times writes. The CBI said Bajaj delivered the gold to grease the wheels for another company based in Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from the 3 kg gold, the CBI team recovered seven kilogram gold bricks from a bank safe deposit box that Chandni allegedly held in someone else's name, the paper said.
