Two drug traffickers who escaped Rio cops' widely-reported slum invasion over Thanksgiving were arrested yesterday. The two members of the notorious Red Command drug gang were caught up in a police sweep that included the arrest of 17 suspected drug and arms traffickers and the seizure of a 7.62mm assault rifle, 45 sub-machine guns, drugs, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle. Although police told the tabloid “O Dia” the arrests occurred “without a firefight,” one unidentified man was found dead after the raid, shot through the neck.
