The situation on Russia’s roads is INSANE. Either there’s full on traffic, or it’s a high-speed race to the death. Car accidents involving officials’ cars going the wrong way have become a rallying point against the regime here, thanks largely to things like YouTube. The traffic gets particularly bad when the roads are regularly shut to allow Putin or Medvedev’s cortege pass by.
Today brings us another unbelievable video. Three ambulances, lights blazing, sit and wait as traffic police shut the road to let a high-ranking offiical (most likely Putin or Medvedev, considering the closure as well as the location) pass. The country, and the lives in it, are their playground.
