Dominique Strauss-Kahn picked in lineup by maid (VIDEO)

A hotel maid picked Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund, out of a lineup Sunday as the man who she claims sexually assaulted her in his $3,000-a-night suite at a New York hotel, according to the Associated Press.

An arraignment for the IMF managing director expected Sunday night was postponed until Monday to give time for collection and testing of evidence.

Strauss-Kahn spent Sunday at the Manhattan Special Victims Unit in East Harlem undergoing forensic exams in connection with the allegations. Prosecutors sought evidence including possible DNA evidence on his skin or under his fingernails to tie him to the case, reports the New York Times.

His lawyers told reporters that he had agreed to a scientific forensic examination.

"Our client willingly consented to a scientific and forensic examination," his lawyer William Taylor said.

Strauss-Kahn was pulled off an Air France plane, out of a first class seat, at Kennedy International Airport after a maid at the Sofitel hotel claimed he attacked her and forced her to perform sexual acts when she entered his room Saturday morning.

The maid, who police say is a 32-year-old African migrant living in the Bronx with a teenage daughter, said she entered the room on Saturday and saw a man run naked from the bathroom to the bedroom. The maid apologized and tried to leave, but the man allegedly grabbed her, shut and locked the door and pulled her into the bathroom where he forced her to perform oral sex and tried to remove her underwear, according to reports quoting a law enforcement official.

The woman eventually escaped and alerted the hotel staff, who called 911. Strauss-Kahn had left the hotel by the time the police arrived, but they stopped him on the plane.

Police took the maid to a hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

A police official said Strauss-Kahn does not have diplomatic immunity, AFP reports.

Authorities feared that Strauss-Kahn would be able to post bail and would leave the country with possible clues on his body and therefore sought a court order to exam him for signs of injury during a fight. This caused the arraignment delay. His lawyers said it would not take place before 11 AM Monday, and that he denies any wrongdoing and intends to "vigorously" defend the charges.

The allegations over sexual assault threatens to destroy Strauss-Kahn's chances in France's upcoming presidential race. Strauss-Kahn was widely expected to become the Socialist candidate for the French presidency, running against President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2012.
