Rio de Janeiro police seized three tons of drugs and a truckload of stolen appliances in a raid on the favela Rochinha, Latin America’s largest shantytown. The news site G1 reported that 200 police officers invaded the community of 120,000 people around 6:15 am. Civil police said they found the hideout of Rio drug boss known as “Coelho,” or Bunny, who fled the favela Sao Carlos after a police invasion there last year. It seems the rabbit, however, gave cops the slip before they arrived.
