Brazil judges threaten strike

Even as new president Dilma Rousseff trimmed budgets and fought to limit Brazil's minimum wage, congress gave themselves and the president a big salary increase. At the time, members of congress argued that they were paid less than federal judges. So they more or less doubled their salary. Well, now judges want a raise too. They’ve threatened to strike next month if their monthly wage doesn’t increase from $16,070 to $18,450. They argue that their salaries should be adjusted annually, but instead they’ve only received one raise in the last six years.
