Bolivia, Brazil sign agreement to fight cocaine trafficking

Brazil’s justice minister, Jose Eduardo Cardozo, has signed an agreement to help train and equip Bolivian security forces to better fight cross-border drug trafficking, the BBC reports. Boliva is the third-largest cocaine producer in the world, and more than half its output passes through Brazil. The BBC says the deal is a bid to fill the void left when US drug enforcement forces were expelled from the Bolivia in 2008 amidst allegations of political interference.
