Romney wants America back on top, OK everyone?
During an appearance on Meet the Press, Obama's senior advisor focused his criticism on Mitt Romney when asked about the GOP contenders, reports CNN.
David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager in 2008 and now his senior advisor, reportedly said on Sunday that Romney "has no core" because he has shifted his position on issues like gay marriage, abortion and climate change to satisfy conservatives, according to Politico.
According to Politico, Plouffe reportedly commented on Romney's inconsistencies on the NBC program:
If he thought … it was good to say the sky was green and the grass was blue to win an election, he'd say it.
Romney's campaign fought back, with spokesperson Ryan Williams reportedly saying the American people can see through the attacks, know Obama has failed, and are eager to replace Obama with Romney, who will turn the economy around, reports the Huffington Post.
With regards to Herman Cain, Plouffe was much less critical, saying the former businessman "seems to have tapped into something," reports the New York Times.
This weekend, the Iowa poll put Herman Cain and former Massachussetts governor Mitt Romney neck-and-neck, with Cain winning 23 percent of GOP caucaus-goers and Romney winning 22 percent. The only other candidate in the double digits was Ron Paul, with 12 percent, reports the Wall Street Journal.
