Woman struck by subway after fainting on Brooklyn platform

Yet another person has been killed by a New York subway. In this case, the victim fainted on the platform at Utica and Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, ABC reported. She fell onto the tracks and then was fatally struck by a No. 3 train.
The death comes after 55 people total died last year on New York City subway tracks. The number is a jump up from the 47 who died in 2011, spurring officials to propose new safety measures at a City Council hearing last week, NBC reported.

In one idea, MTA officials say they're testing barriers on subway platform edges, NBC reported. Subway operators, meanwhile, suggested entering the station at only 10 miles per hour.
The most talked-about subway death happened late last year when Ki Suk Han was pushed to his death. The New York Post then published a photograph of Ki Suk Han moments before he died, angering many who felt that the photographer should been helping the victim instead of snapping pictures.
