Vietnam: students take English exams for cheating bureaucrats
A group of entrepreneurial students in Vietnam indulged lucrative side job: posing as government officials for English-language exams.
According to outlets Thanh Nien and Tuoi Tre, students charged several hundred bureaucrats in Dong Nai province (just outside Ho Chi Minh City) between $190 and $330 for taking English exams. For a Vietnamese university student, that's a hefty sum.
Most of the officials, according to Tuoi Tre, wanted to "pass the exams in order to polish their CVs for promotion purporses."
The student cheat ring and their bureaucrat clients are being investigated by police.
