Two NATO soldiers, local official killed in Afghanistan

Officials said two separate attacks today killed two NATO soldiers as well as a local Afghan official, said The Associated Press

One soldier was killed by a roadside bomb, officials said, while another died in a militant-led attack, both incidents that took place in the country's volatile south. The identities of the two service members were not disclosed.

Also today, in the eastern Laghman province, a provincial official said the head of Dawlat Shahi district was killed by a roadside bomb while going to his offica along with a school director, who was wounded in the blast, according to AP

The violence comes a day after Taliban-claimed attacks across Afghanistan left as many as 19 people dead, said AP

A total of 103 NATO troops have died in Afghanistan so far this year, according to AP
