‘Twilight’ mass shooting: Missouri man charged in plot

A Missouri man was charged Friday with planning a mass shooting this weekend at a "Twilight" movie screening.
Blaec Lammers, 20, is accused of buying assault rifles and more than 400 rounds of ammunition as part of a plot mimicking the mass shooting that killed 12 people at a Colorado movie theater in July, the Springfield News-Leader reported.

The Bolivar man now faces charges of first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action.
Lammers' plot was thwarted after his mother called police Thursday, KCTV reported via court documents.

According to USA Today, she told police her son had bought assault weapons and ammunition and was concerned he "may have intentions of shooting people at the movie."
Bolivar City Administrator Darin Chappell commended Lammers' mother for her actions, saying she "did a heroic thing."
