After disclosing a potential conflict of interest, the judge hearing George Zimmerman’s murder case has recused herself, according to The Associated Press.

Florida Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler’s recusal stems from her husband’s relationship to the law firm retained to defend Zimmerman, who faces life in prison for the fatal Feb 26 shooting of the unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman claims he acted in self defense.

The AP said Judge Recksiedler’s husban works with an attorney, Mark NeJame, who referred the Zimmerman defense case to the current defender, Mark O’Mara. NeJame is now a CNN commentator on the case.

But according to CBS News, the next judge, John Galluzzo, has said he too has a potential conflict as he has a personal and business relationship with O’Mara.

CBS said that because of this Judge Kenneth Lester was likely to replace Judge Recksiedler.
