Summer plans for Supreme Court justices’ point to June finish for the court term

Court watchers predict the long awaited decisions on health care and Arizona immigration cases will likely be decided by the end of June.
The Associated Press reported that many of the justices, including Chief Justice John Roberts will be teaching law school this summer. Roberts is due in the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, the first week in July.
He will be teaching for a program led by the South Texas College of Law in Houston and the William Mitchell College of Law in Minneapolis, the AP wrote. The Minnesota school is the alma mater of Warren Burger, who was the chief justice when Roberts served as a law clerk at the high court.
Three of his fellow justices will be nearby in Europe. Conservative Antonin Scalia will teach in Innsbruck, Austria; while Justices Samuel Alito and Ruth Bader Ginsburg are due to teach American law students in Europe during July.

Fox News reported the court is far ahead of its pace compared with last year but it still must decide on the Federal Communications Commission policy on regulating curse words and nudity on television.
The AP wrote that the justices, who are paid $213,900 a year, teach in the summer to earn an additional $10,000 to $20,000 and to subsidize their family vacations abroad. The chief justice earns about $10,000 a year more that the others.
