Sesame Street to Obama: Take down Big Bird ad (VIDEO)
Does Mitt Romney really want to see the back of Big Bird? Probably not. But Twitter thinks he does.
Sesame Street has asked the Obama campaign to pull his latest attack ad, which takes a jab at Romney's mention of Big Bird in his discussion of cutting PBS' federal funding.
"Mitt Romney knows it's not Wall Street you have to worry about, it's Sesame Street," said the ad's narrator, after Bernie Maddoff and Ken Lay appear on screen.
Romney told moderator Jim Lehrer, a former PBS News anchor, during the debate last week, “I’m gonna stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m gonna stop other things. I like PBS, I like Big Bird, I actually like you too," Politico reported.
The Internet has already jumped on Romney's Big Bird gaffe; the Obama campaign seems like it's trying to cash in on that hype.

"Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns," the children's TV show said in a statement. "We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down."
Obama's campaign said only that it would review the request, the Hill reported.
"We've received and will review their concerns," said an Obama campaign official.
C'mon, guys — let's just leave Big Bird out of this.
