Ryan Seacrest to take on special correspondent role on ‘Today Show’
Ryan Seacrest will reportedly become a special correspondent for NBC’s “Today Show,” it was announced on April 27, 2012.
Ryan Seacrest just signed a two-year contract with NBCUniversal which will include him taking on the role of special correspondent on NBC's "Today Show," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes just days after Seacrest signed a $30 million deal to continue hosting "American Idol."
Steve Burke, the CEO of NBCUniversal, said, "Ryan is an extraordinary talent who has been an important part of the Comcast family for a long time," according to Deadline.

Burke added, "We look forward to his continued role on E! and to having him appear on many new places across NBCUniversal, including the TODAY show and at the Olympics."
Seacrest said, "Today, I am humbled to have the confidence of Steve Burke, Ted Harbert, Bonnie Hammer and many others within the NBCUniversal family, to strategically extend my relationship to encompass NBC programming," Deadline reported.
