Roadside bombs kill 5 in Iraq: officials

Iraqi officials said two bombings near Baghdad today killed five people, one of them a woman, according to the Associated Press.

At least a dozen people were reported injured in the blasts. Officials said the first bomb was detonated near an army patrol in the city Taji just north of Baghdad, killing one soldier, said AP.
The second blast hit a busy street a southern neighborhood in the capital, leaving four people dead, one of them a woman, reported AP.
It was not immediately clear what motivated the attacks. Both areas were predominantly Sunni.
Health officials confirmed the fatalities, said AP.
Iraq continues to see remittant violence and tension between its Sunni and Shiite communities.
