Pakistan today set a new world record for the greatest number of people singing the national anthem at one time, according to Pakistan's The News.
Guinness World Records representative Gareth Daeves confirmed to reporters that the 42, 813 people singing the national anthem today had set a new record, said The News.
The event took place during opening ceremony of Punjab Youth Festival at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore.
Organizers said they held several rehearsals and claimed as many as 70,000 people participated, according to Pakistan's NDTV.
The former record for such an event was 21,000 people, said NDTV.
